The overall health, safety and well-being of the React Elite community stands alone as our top priority and our commitment to protecting our members – including athletes, coaches, and volunteers – is unwavering. The information outlined below details many of our policies, procedures, and resources designed to safeguard the physical, mental, and emotional health of our community.
React Elite is committed to fostering a safe environment for all of its members and has aligned itself with the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The Center is an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. Under federal law, the Center develops resources and policies to safeguard athletes from bullying, harassment, hazing, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct. The Center is a trusted educational resource for sports entities at all levels from grassroots amateur sports organizations to professional leagues.
Educational Course:
All Owners, coaches, personnel members (Team Parent Coordinators), and athletes over the age of 18 are required to complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport online Abuse Prevention & Education course.
Background Check:
NCIS background checks are required for all Owners, Coaches, and Personnel Members.
Competitions:
We require one or more chaperones (Parent Coordinator), for any team, regardless of division, that has a youth athlete (under the age of 18) on its roster.
One-on-one: Interactions between a minor athlete and an Applicable Adult (who is not the minor’s legal guardian) are permitted if they occur at an observable and interruptible distance by another adult.
Meetings: Meetings may occur in the presence of another adult, with doors to the office remaining open and unlocked, and with any available windows/blinds/curtains remaining open during the meeting.
Closed Door: The door remains unlocked; Another adult is present at the facility and in the room with you.
Individual Training Session: Individual training sessions between applicable adults and minor athletes (ex: Private Lessons), are permitted if the training sessions are observable and interruptible by another adult. Monitoring these interactions includes knowing that the one-on-one interaction is occurring, the approximate planned duration of the interaction, and randomly dropping in on the one-on-one.
